The cat gets spooked by steam, so I just comb it with the silicone bristles of the brush and that works well too. After a few minutes, once you get used to it, you can turn on the steam and continue combing, then it doesn't escape.

My cat is not crazy about it at all, but it’s not a normal cat 🤣 The steam compartment even if filled with warm water only blows cold air so he doesn’t appreciate it in the winter i guess 🥹 I’ll try in summer again. As a pure brush it does work, removes quite a lot of hair because of its sticky surface.
